K13 vs K15 for the British/Irish

Post by pendragon » Sun Aug 18, 2019 6:53 am

So, I have a theory since the British isles are between the NorthSea and Atlantic that Eurogenes K15 is superior for populations originating in this area compared to Eurogenes K13. The reason being is because K13 has a general North_Altantic admixture category when in reality that is an admixture of Atlantic Seaboard Celtic and NorthSea Germanic so it needs to be broken down further like we see with K15. K15 breaks it down into North Sea and Atlantic. So , anyway, K13 gives me Irish and k15 SouthWest English. I think that makes David, of Eurogenes, look incompetent since the Irish and English have a tumultuous history to say the least; and now with Brexit it looks like Irish and English relations are going to be bad again.

Here is my K15 result :

Closest population distances
Population

Distance
Southwest_English
0.4227068

Southeast_English
0.4342039

North_Dutch
0.4654368

Danish
0.487074

West_Scottish
0.5129006

Irish
0.5132991

Orcadian

etc...

Here is my K13 :

Population

Distance
Irish
0.4099524

Orcadian
0.4518457

West_Scottish
0.5087962

North_Dutch
0.5456283

Southwest_English
0.5530321

Danish
0.6207527

Southeast_English
0.6256436

North_German
0.6952485

Anyone else agree with my theory on this ?
