K47 Calculator

Post by Nikkit1983 » Wed Aug 14, 2019 8:46 am

I uploaded my raw dna as well as my parents’. Using the k47 calculator, I have a small percentage of 1.48 of North West India. I would say it makes sense for my background (middle Eastern, North African, Sicilian) but the weird thing is, neither of my parents have it. Could my mom or dad’s North West India be lumped in with something else and mine was easier to find? I absolutely believe in the k47 calculator because everything else with both my parents and myself was very spot on.
Thanks for any insight.

DNA can bounce around a bit. Traces that do not appear in the second generation can reappear in the third generation. This is one of the possibilities to take into account.

If you look at the following summary for my relatives using a gedmatch calculator MDLP 23b you can see that my sister has a small percentage of Near Eastern that does not occur in anyone else. This is similar to your North West Indian. If it were possible to have your grandparents tested perhaps one of them might have North West Indian.

That’s Interesting. Thank you. I didn’t realize I could get dna my parents didn’t get. One of my grandmothers tested. She does not have it. Unfortunately, she is the only one still alive.
Either way I am proud and intrigued my my 1.48% Indian lol. It was the only one on my list I didn’t expect. Everything else was spot on.
