Your English is pretty good mon Ami. Strange I score much higher scando than you. Your region is supposed to have been settled by much more Vikings than mine.
In the 10th century Nantes area was a viking settlement. During a short time comparing to Normandy but it could explain your scando score.

Yes, and noirmoutiers too for many years and because I am from the coastline I think it's related.

Probably some Vikings 😋 I did my test with my heritage. Which company is the most reliable?
I wish I knew so I could purchase just one and save my budget! :D I have only uploaded my raw DNA data to My Heritage, not purchased their DNA test.

Thus far, I believe that I get mild to moderate sub-regional differences on Gedmatch calculators between the main American commercial tests (23andMe, AncestryDNA and FTDNA) versus Living DNA. On the other hand, I believe reports that 23andMe has used not only public sample references but also self-reporting from customers who declare 4 ancestors from 1 place. Or, is this outdated now as they have undergone a few updates (&1 of my trace Euro populations has vacillated between 0 to 4% plus 0% African vs. 0.2% African)?

Living DNA, in contrast, performed a strict ancestry pedigree verification over GGP on same region and was under control by Oxford Wellcome Trust. However, at this time, the company has been criticized for having samples that are too-British-centric and therefore less reliable for other Europeans. Last I heard, they were performing a similar sub-regional analysis in Germany. In the interim, British is my assumed primary ancestry so it works for me! :D

Thanks for the information Arcadiaville, I first thought you had some Acadian ancestry because of your nickname btw 😋 Acadians mostly came from western France where I am from!

Regarding DNA companies, I think the most important is first to opt for a company that test the largest amount of snps as possible that relate to ancestry and from what I heard 23andme is ahead for this. Then, we can use our DNA raw file and upload to the company using the most advanced calculators. I believe in a few years time websites will be able to predict with a much higher accuracy our ancestries.

It seems to have been taken down? It is not in the thread anymore.
