Re: Post LivingDNA results
Interesting results, Redbeard. Does that line up pretty well with any other tests you've taken and your known ancestry?
Re: Post LivingDNA results
Ashkenazi background for the most part - ties pretty well with most gedmatch and g25 calculators (and of course ‘yourdnaportal’) - any platform without an ashkenazi reference (very endogamous so it becomes its own ‘nationality’) reflects the ‘ingredients’ only in slightly different proportions

Re: Post LivingDNA results
For anyone interested in seeing the sub-regional results of person with presumed mostly British Isles ancestry over original & updated 2020 versions:
* My ancestry is believed to represent mostly English and Scottish (1 continental ancestor mid-1700s) but all lines are not yet proven with genealogical records.
* My ancestry is believed to represent mostly English and Scottish (1 continental ancestor mid-1700s) but all lines are not yet proven with genealogical records.

Re: Post LivingDNA results
Here are my updated results. Mainly an improvement. The Irish and Germanic scores have reduced to percentages more plausible in comparison to my known family history. Most of the German seems to have moved to Northumbria instead, while the Irish has been split up with Cornwall which fits my known south-west English ancestry. I've got some south Welsh now as well which means all the Celtic nations of Britain and Ireland apart from the Isle of Man are represented in my DNA!
On the downside I've lost a chunk of my Aberdeenshire, which seems to have gone to south-west Scotland instead. Most of my roots are in the north-east of Scotland, so that would seem to be a backwards step by Living DNA compared to my original results.

Re: Post LivingDNA results
My updated results are still pretty wacky. They pumped up my Southeast England results and doubled East Anglia. I was hoping they'd sort out the Germanic for mine as I was told it could be hiding in these two categories, but I only scored 2.4% Northwest Germanic. That's (minimum) about 20% less Germanic than it should be/is on other tests. Northern Ireland & Southern Scotland, Ireland, Aberdeenshire, and Northwest Scotland also dropped which doesn't make a lot of sense. They did basically double Northumbria too though which makes more sense than a lot of the other changes. All in all I can't really say it looks any more accurate compared to my paper trail. I suppose the fact that a Germanic category even shows up this time around is a small step in the right direction.
Re: Post LivingDNA results
Am Ashkenazi Jewish from Poland/Belarus/Russia. I think it's pretty accurate considering our history, maybe slightly off on the proportions.
