Re: Post your Ancestry DNA results

Seems like the Scotland estimates are up and the Ireland estimates are down for a lot of people. In my case it looks like a large chunk of my England and North West Europe has been recategorised as Scotland. I think this is because south east Scottish ancestry is hard to tell apart from English anc...

Re: Post your Ancestry DNA results

Just checked my Ancestry results and they have indeed been updated. I wasn't sent an email to inform me of the update. I've now got; Scotland 84% Ireland 11% England and North West Europe 5% 7/8 of my great grandparents are Scottish so the results make sense. I've got New Zealand Settlers as a genet...

Re: K20M12 Bronze Age

Central Euro 51.64
West Euro 4.42
North East Euro 0.98
West Steppe 27.92
East Steppe 15.03

Interesting new calculator. I wonder what the difference is between West Steppe and East Steppe. Is East Steppe maybe something to do with the Andronovo horizon?

Re: Post LivingDNA results

Here are my updated results. Mainly an improvement. The Irish and Germanic scores have reduced to percentages more plausible in comparison to my known family history. Most of the German seems to have moved to Northumbria instead, while the Irish has been split up with Cornwall which fits my known s...

Re: Post LivingDNA results

Living DNA are announcing a new ancestry update on Tuesday 28 January 2020. Hopefully they'll be introducing their long awaited breakdowns of Irish and Germanic regions.

Re: Promethease free uploads

Now I dig into the report I can see there's a bit more info than I originally thought.

I got this prediction for Y DNA which correspond to what Living DNA gave me;

Re: Promethease free uploads

TBH I didn't find the Promethease report to be that impressive. I'm glad I didn't pay for it. The trait reports on YourDnaPortal give more information in a more user-friendly format.
